A recycled handmade box
Made from last years Strathprint Calendar this is how to make a simple box . Cut two squares one 6mm smaller than the other
Mark two lines corner to corner on each square (on the opposite side to the picture)
Fold a corner into the middle(as in the top piece)
and then fold again into the middle
(as in the bottom piece) . Open out and repeat for the other three corners
Looking at the folded pieces you will see a centre square formed by the folding . Using scissors cut down two opposing sides up to that square shape (I have marked the bottom square so that you can see the centre square easier.
Put a spot of glue (I use a prit stick ) in the centre square and fold the two uncut sides into the middle. Fold up the wings at the box corners , tuck under and fold the cut sides over the wings. One side shown in the bottom of the picture.
You can also insert a small square of paper inside both boxes just finish it off.
Picture on the right shows some finished boxes. Old SLACA guides and Christmas cards can be recycled in this way. Enjoy.
