This wood recycling workshop based in Uig employs a number of
people in the manufacture of small pieces of furniture.
TouchWood have been in production since 2002 mainly using discarded pallets to create bespoke pieces of furniture.
This improves the landscape , reduces pollution and saves precious landfill space. The added bonus is quality useable items for home , office and garden (Only the nails are not saved)

TouchWood is the first truly island social firm in Scotland . It was established by the Social Firm Development Group. The company has received funding with the help of Skye & Lochalsh Enterprise , The Highland Council , Lloyds TSB and Rural Challenge fund.
A social firm is a business created to use and market its products or services in order to fulfill its social purpose. A recent grant from Increase allows us to improve and expand into 2007
